Initial consultations can take place online or face to face

In your initial consultation, we'll talk about what's led you to seek counselling and explore your history to better understand your current situation. You'll have space to ask questions, and we'll work out together whether HCC can offer you the support you need.

If you have any questions or require further assistance,
please contact us.

What you need to know about costs

Contribution

Initial Counselling Consultation

We ask for a one-off contribution fee of £65 for an initial consultation. If you need to cancel the appointment, we ask you to provide us with 48 hours’ notice. If you are not able to attend or do not give us 48 hours’ notice, the contribution fee is not refundable.

Ongoing Counselling

Those receiving counselling at HCC are asked to make a financial contribution to cover costs of each scheduled session. Invoices are raised for you following each session.
During your initial consultation the level of contribution will be discussed and agreed with you for ongoing individual counselling. This is calculated using a sliding scale and relates to your monthly individual income before tax. The level of contribution is never considered when placing a client with a suitable counsellor.
For couples and family counselling, contributions are determined in the same way by individual circumstances, but we also take into account that more than one individual is involved.
HCC expect contributions to be paid for cancelled or missed sessions, but not when a counsellor is not available.
